Optimal Configuration of Array Elements for Hybrid Distributed PA-MIMO Radar System Based on Target Detection

This paper establishes a hybrid distributed phased array multiple-input multiple-output (PA-MIMO) radar system model to improve the target detection performance by combining coherent processing gain and spatial diversity gain. First, signal space configuration for PA-MIMO are established. Then, novel likelihood ratio test (LRT) detector is derived based on Neyman–Pearson (NP) criterion in fixed noise background. It can jointly optimize of implementing subarray level element optimal at both receiver transmitter ends uniform blocking manner. On this basis, three typical optimization problems discussed from aspects, i.e., probability, effective range, equipment volume. The approximate closed-form solutions them constructed solved proposed quantum particle swarm optimization-based stochastic rounding (SR-QPSO) algorithm. Through simulations, it verified that offers substantial improvements compared other systems, probability 0.98, an range 1166.3 km, which significantly improves performance.
